About Opening an Account

No. You do not need a bank account in the United States to invest with Sunstate Invest.
You can send funds from a bank account in your country of residence, as long as the account is in your name.
Third-party deposits are not allowed

As a U.S.-registered investment adviser, Sunstate Wealth Management LLC is required by law to verify the identity of all clients. During account opening you will be asked to provide: a valid government-issued photo ID; proof of residential address; and, where applicable, information about the source of funds. All clients are subject to screening against U.S. and international sanctions lists, including OFAC. We are required to report suspicious activity to relevant authorities under the U.S. Bank Secrecy Act. Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and their immediate family members may be subject to enhanced due diligence. To comply with U.S. anti-money laundering regulations, we will verify your identity and screen your information against applicable sanctions lists. This is required by law and does not affect your eligibility to open an account in most cases.

An account is opened through a formal onboarding process, including execution of an advisory agreement and required documentation.

After completing the registration, your information will be analyzed by the Sunstate Invest compliance team and then by Interactive Brokers — a process that takes 3 to 5 business days.
You will receive:
  • An email confirming the start of processing
  • Another email when your account is approved
  • If any additional documents are needed, we will contact you by email.
If you need help, our support team is always available.

Yes. Your assets are held in custody at Interactive Brokers.

Yes, all investments involve risk. The value of your account can go down as well as up, and you may get back less than you originally invested — including a total loss of capital. Market volatility is normal and can occur over both short and long periods. While global equity markets have historically produced positive returns over very long time horizons, this is not guaranteed and past performance is not indicative of future results. We recommend investing only money you do not need in the short term and reviewing your risk profile regularly.

Your securities are held in custody by Interactive Brokers LLC, regulated by the SEC and member SIPC. SIPC coverage protects up to USD 500,000 per account in the event of a brokerage firm failure — it does not protect against investment losses due to market movements. All investments involve risk, and the value of your account may go up or down. You could lose some or all of the money you invest

Client assets are held with qualified custodians. All investments involve risk, including the possible loss of principal.

Fees and Costs

Fees are asset-based and described in detail in Form ADV Part 2A and, where applicable, the Wrap Fee Program Brochure.

In a wrap fee program, a single asset-based fee may cover advisory services and certain transaction-related costs. Details are provided in the Wrap Fee Program Brochure.

The calculation depends on the type of account (cash or margin).

  • The fee is calculated automatically.
  • The amount is based on the daily closing of the previous month's assets.
  • The annual fee is divided by 252 business days.
  • At the end of the month, the daily amounts are summed up.

  • The fee is calculated manually by BCP Global.
  • It is based on the average market value on the first and last business day of the previous month.
  • The annual fee is divided by 252 and multiplied by the business days of the month.

Investments and Performance

Normally, funds are invested on the next business day, according to the selected portfolio.

Investment Portfolios

Our investment philosophy is based on two fundamental principles:
1. Modern Portfolio Theory
Based on the work of Harry Markowitz, this theory explains how to maximize returns for a desired level of risk, or reduce risk for an expected return, through the proper combination of assets. The central idea is to look at the portfolio as a whole — combined risk and return — and not select assets in isolation.
2. Passive Index Investing
This principle argues that trying to predict the market or consistently picking "winning" stocks is unlikely to generate superior returns in the long term.
Therefore, our portfolios use instruments that replicate indices, offering diversification, consistency, and efficiency.Portfolios are designed to reflect your risk level, are globally diversified, and use UCITS ETFs, which offer good liquidity, transparency, and tax efficiency.

Your money is invested according to the risk profile defined during account opening.
Based on the answers to the questionnaire, a portfolio is recommended for you — but if you prefer, you can choose another option.
After that, you can change your portfolio whenever you want, with no costs or restrictions.
Every time you switch portfolios, rebalancing is done automatically.

The risk profile is determined by your:
● investment experience
● age
● investment horizon
● financial goals
● ability to bear losses / volatility tolerance
With this information, we identify the portfolio that best suits your needs and return expectations.
Even so, you can choose any portfolio, regardless of the recommendation.

Sunstate Invest offers 4 portfolio families, and within each of them there are options with different risk levels, mainly varying in the proportion between:
● Fixed income
● Variable income (stocks)
In addition, there are specific portfolios for needs such as very short-term liquidity, ideal for strategic cash management.

Yes. After opening the account, you can change your portfolio at any time, with no fees, restrictions, or penalties.

Yes. You can invest in more than one portfolio simultaneously.
To do so, contact the Sunstate Invest support team, who will assist you in the process.

UCITS ETFs are exchange-traded funds regulated under European law that replicate indices of stocks, bonds, or other assets. They offer diversification, liquidity, and transparency. Important: UCITS ETFs are not registered under the U.S. Investment Company Act of 1940 and are generally not suitable for U.S. persons. U.S. investors on this platform are invested in U.S.-registered ETFs, not UCITS ETFs. Please review the portfolio designated “For U.S. Residents” for products available to you.

Sunstate oversees portfolio implementation. In certain cases, model portfolios may be provided by third-party asset managers; however, Sunstate retains responsibility for advisory services unless otherwise disclosed.

No. Third-party providers may supply model portfolios, but Sunstate remains the investment adviser responsible for implementation and oversight.

Sunstate does not provide tax advice. Clients should consult their tax advisors regarding their individual circumstances.

Portfolios are monitored and may be rebalanced periodically based on investment strategy and market conditions.
